You must live, work or study in the borough to be able to submit an e-petition. E-petitions remain live on our website for three months. If the requisite number of signatories to progress a petition has not been achieved within that period, then the petition will be removed.

Once you have completed the online form, Democratic Services will acknowledge your petition and may contact you to discuss your e-petition before it goes live.
The minimum threshold for the petition to be considered by the Council is 500 individuals who live, work or study in the Borough of Scarborough.
For the petition to be referred to the Council meeting for debate, at least 5000 supporters are required.
