COMPLAINT ALLEGING A BREACH OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT BY A COUNCILLOR
If you believe that a member or co-opted member of Scarborough Borough Council or a Parish Council within the Borough has failed to comply with the Relevant Authority’s code of conduct you can submit a written complaint.
Complaints may be submitted using this website and completing the required fields.
When we receive your complaint, we will refer it to the Monitoring Officer and the Independent Person who after considering your complaint, can decide on one of the following:
(a) Decide that no action should be taken in respect of the allegation and give you reasons for this.
(b) Try to resolve the issue between yourself and the relevant Councillor. This may for example mean arranging a meeting with yourself, the Councillor and the Monitoring Officer.
(c) Decide to investigate your complaint.
(d) Ask you for more details about this complaint.
All complaints about Scarborough Borough Councillors or Parish Councillors within the Scarborough Borough must be made on this form.
All other forms of complaint in relation to the Scarborough Borough Council should be submitted to:
